FERRIDAY FESTIVAL PAVILION

Renovation

As part of a downtown redevelopment, the Town of Ferriday leaders wanted to enshrine this town’s music heritage before it was completely lost. An old raised wood structure, just-off from where the railroad tracks used to be, was chosen to be repaired and re-clad in a metal skin for protection from the weather. The large open-air wood deck is used for concerts, festivals, farmers’ markets and civic assemblies and is fronted by an open-air stage and wide, open public lawn.  This project was the recipient of a 2014 AIA Rose Award.
