The Architectural Studio was originally formed in August 1968 by James D. Dodds (Jimmy). He founded the company directly after graduating from the Louisiana State University School of Architecture. For over 50 years, Jimmy has focused on the design and construction of innumerable multi-family residential projects throughout the Southeastern United States. He has also developed a keen expertise in historical work, which has included projects on buildings such as the National Archives in Washington, D.C. and the Louisiana State Capitol.
In 2011, Lance S. Malley became partners with Jimmy. He has been working at The Architectural Studio since 2007. Lance also attended the Louisiana State University School of Architecture, graduating with his Masters of Architecture in 2007.
With the substantial foundation that Jimmy has built, The Architectural Studio continues to thrive. Jimmy and Lance have recruited a mix of dedicated employees with a diverse range of valuable experience, fresh ideas, and new approaches. Today the firm is confident with its strong base while never ceasing to develop, grow and change. We look forward to the bright future that is ahead.
