Project Description:

For years, the whistle at this factory echoed economic strength throughout the Irish Channel neighborhood of New Orleans. In 1908, this structure was erected and became one of the few industrial complexes in the city at that time. It operated for nearly 70 years before the company went bankrupt in 1977.

The goal was to provide a viable, contemporary living space that embraces the strong-held tradition of the city. Each of the six levels were revitalized and hand-crafted to provide a unique and spectacular vantage point from which to experience the city. Thirty-six apartment units, all of which capture the breathtaking views of the Mississippi River, were painstakingly articulated in brick, barge board, and plaster. Additional amenities added to the building include a  swimming pool, roof-level observation deck, business and fitness center, as well as a private-gated parking area.
